$15 Well Spent

For just 15 bucks or $1.50/issue for 10 issues, you can’t beat picking up a subscription to Nutrition Action Healthletter. It’s the largest circulation health newsletter in North America, with separate Canadian and US editions. I really like the way they “tell it like it is,” when it comes to reviewing grocery-store products, new diet or health books, or the latest diet fads/trends. Think of Nutrition Action Healthletter as the Simon Cowell of the nutrition world…blunt, not afraid to hurt feelings or name names, and perfectly comfortable with blasting certain food companies for creating unhealthy products. One of my favourite features is the back cover, which focuses on food-product reviews. Each issue, one product is given the “thumbs up” (The Right Stuff) and another product is given the “thumbs down” (Food Porn). To view this month’s product reviews, click here:

You’ll find sample articles and a subscription form on their website at www.cspinet.org. (By the way “cspi” stands for Centre for Science in the Public Interest.) Please take a couple minutes to check it out. I learn something new every single time I pick up an issue.
