Brazilian BerrySplash

About a month ago when Janet was staying at my place, she slipped a little scoop of sweet-smelling powder into my morning smoothie. I don’t usually let her near my smoothies, as I’ve seen her put weird-looking green supplements and oils into her smoothies all in the name of good health. She insisted I would “love” the taste of BerrySplash and that it would taste like Kool Aid. Yeah, right. Kinda like the liquid mineral supplement she gave me that tastes exactly like iodine. Anyway, she was right! The powder added an amazing berry taste to my smoothie and I really did love it! Here’s what BerrySplash is all about and why you might want to pick some up:

On the colourful label, it states: “Brazilian BerrySplash Antioxidant Energy Drink. Concentrated Mixed Berry Formula Powered with Acai Berry! Feel the Power of Acai!” Acai? Hmm. I think Oprah talked about acai on her show. (It’s pronounced ah-sigh-ee, just so you know.) Acai is an antioxidant-rich berry that grows wild in the Amazon and is considered to be one of the top superfoods in the world. They say that acai helps slow the aging process and boosts energy and mental sharpness, something that I could definitely benefit from, as I’ve been told many times that I’m not very sharp! Acai contains the potent purple antioxidants called anthocyanins, also found in red wine grapes, that help protect your body from invading pathogens, boost your immune system and even maintain healthy eyesight. Acai is one of the most nutritious fruits, with Omega fatty acids, fibre, and antioxidants packed into each little berry. On the label, they admit that no single antioxidant source, no matter how powerful, can protect against all forms of free-radical invaders, so they’ve added TEN other antioxidant-rich berries and botanical extracts to the formula to create the ultimate antioxidant cocktail. These additional ingredients include pomegranate, acerola (cherry-like fruit of tropical shrub), red and white grape seed, goji berry, blueberry, elderberry, cupuacu (oblong, brown, fuzzy fruit from rainforest tree), bilberry, cranberry, raspberry, guarana fruit seed (from Venezuala and Brazil) and paraguay (green) tea. Sounds pretty potent to me!

I found BerrySplash (by Nu-Greens) at my local grocery store in their health-food section. I paid $27.99 for a one-pound (approx) tin, but I believe it was on special. You get 30 scoops in each tin, so it’s about a buck a serving, which isn’t too bad when consider the high price of blueberries and raspberries and what you’d pay to fly to the Amazon to pick your own acai. I really, really like this product and they even give 50 cents per tin sold to the save the rainforest. You can get more info at www.nulifevitamins.com.

That was a good sale, because I looked for it today and found it at $40.99 (in Alberta, Land of One Sales Tax). I’m new to greens and supplements, and I’m noticing that they’re not cheap, but I do like the health benefits… so the question is, how long can an open tin last? If I don’t want to take it *every* day, could I use it every other day, or every third day, but still use it up before it turns?

    Thanks!

Stephanie, if you don’t mind shopping online, there’s a place in BC called Lifestyle Markets that has BerrySplash on sale on their website for $29.97. Not sure about shipping…maybe it’s included? Here’s the link: http://www.lifestylemarkets.com/common/specials/store_specials.asp?storeID=A45C6CEF51584955A3036F6405FAC42B#

I’m sure you can keep it for months before it goes “stale.” I keep mine in the fridge. Hope this helps!

Do you know if there is somewhere in the United States or on the internet that I could purchase the BerrySplash?

I just bought some yesterday at Save-On Foods in BC for $27. (on sale) Regular price was something like $38! I tried it and it’s delicious- so far I’ve just had it mixed in water like it says on the label, but it has a great flavour and I think it would be tasty in smoothies.
So, I’m going back to get another tin while the sale is still on!

Hmm… it must be available in different forms, because what I was able to find was in liquid form and was over $40 for 30 drinks. You use a tablespoon each time and add it to water or whatever drink you like.

My canister did not come with a scoop, so I have been spending hours trying to find the scoop on the scoop! Additionally, I was wondering how many times about all of you have been drinking it?

Hey guys I just wanted you to know that by drinking berry splash, stacking with an omega369 supplement, a multivitamin, and a veggie extract version of berry splash such as progressive vegegreens…. I lost 52lbs. It seems to amplify the fatloss during my exercise (only 15-20mins per day) and gives me what feels like unlimited energy. I come from a type 2 diabetic background and now I think i’ve completely avoided it. I hope it works for you guys too. Best of luck. George from Vancouver.

I plan to take one cap full in the morining and then at bed take 2 pills of Flush the Fat with Internal flush that I purchased at Walmart for $25.00 before I go to bed. I am hoping the combination together will help me shed some poounds. Has anyone tried that combination at all and does anyone know if the Berrysplash interacts with prescription drugs?

I just want to say, people should first of all eat properly, and then if they don’t take what they need, as vitamins and minerals, from their food, they should think about taking supplements. I believe that nature has everything we need.
