Greetings from Malvern, Pennsylvania!
Well, just like Willie Nelson sang, Janet and I are “on the road again!” We have a one-month commitment to QVC to be “on call” for appearances to sell our new cookbook on their huge shopping network. We left last Friday and our schedule for the next 10 days is kinda crazy:
Today: on-air at 4 pm for a special “Dads and Grads” entertaining show. Should be interesting!
Tuesday: on-air at 4 a.m. Yup! That’s A.M.! I can’t imagine people shopping from their television at that hour, but QVC airs live shows 24 hours a day.
Wednesday: on-air at 4 p.m., then zoom to airport to catch flight to Toronto, getting in at 10 pm.
Thursday: up at the crack of dawn in downtown Toronto. We’ll be handing out FREE copies of the June issue of Reader’s Digest at Union Station in Toronto! (Remember: We’re cover girls!) We’re looking forward to this event but not too excited about our wake-up call.
Friday: More selling, this time on the Canadian shopping channel (TSC) in Mississauga. They’re offering their viewers an unbelievable (kinda crazy!) deal on Eat, Shrink & Be Merry: TWO books for $24.95!! We’re on at 8 am, 1 pm, 5 pm and 9 pm, just in case you want to phone in and talk to us
Saturday: Get up at 5 am for flight back to Philadelphia for 4 pm QVC appearance.
Sunday: Sleep in and hopefully relax all day until our 7 pm QVC appearance.
Monday: up early and fly home. Race to pick up my doggie who I miss dearly already and it’s only been 3 days!
We really enjoy coming to QVC and staying at The Desmond. It’s not a fancy, shmancy hotel by any means, kinda old-fashioned, the decor’s a little out-dated, but we get these huge canopy beds in our rooms that make you feel like you’re sleeping in a cocoon. Plus, the restaurant’s good, the staff is really friendly and they don’t mind pointing us in the right direction to the nearest Starbucks or the HUGE (and I mean HUGE) King of Prussia mall. Apparently, it’s the second-biggest mall in the entire country, and I believe it! If you spent 8 hours there, you’d only see half the mall. Need some new shoes? There are zillions of shoe stores! Women’s clothes? You name it, they’ve got it! Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus…I mist be gettin rilly excited cuz Im typin way 2 fast!!!
Have a great Monday and we’ll check in with you tomorrow. Janet will likely be writing about her #1 supplement recommendation, so stay tuned!
P.S. I think we forgot to mention that we met Potsie Weber (Anson Williams) from Happy Days here at QVC last week. He was selling his micro-dermabrasion kit and we got a free sample. He looks really good and was super friendly. I think Joan Rivers is here tonight…
