Cookbooks for Everyone!

Posted by: Greta on: April 28th, 2006  »  20 comments

Congratulations to everyone who posted a comment on our blog yesterday! Instead of drawing for 5 autographed cookbooks as planned, we’re feeling a little generous this morning and have decided to send each and every one of you a copy of Eat, Shrink & Be Merry!

You’ll be notified by e-mail today and asked for your mailing address. We’ll ship the books out on Monday. Thanks for visiting our blog, and please tell your friends about it!

Also, if you live in the Toronto area, you can visit us at the Good Food Festival this weekend (www.goodfoodfestival.net). We’ll be there from noon til 8pm today, 10 am to 8 pm Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Hope to see you there!

Mmmmm good recipes. So far I’ve cooked my family of three Awe Schucks and Darth Tater. My husband and I enjoyed both. My daughter enjoyed the smell of Darth Tater but refused to eat the tasty dish. She’s a picky eater right now so it’s her perogative apparently.

Just one critique from someone east of the city where our ovens must be somewhat different. Both recipes took more than a half hour took cook than was stated in the book. The sea scallops were supposed to take about three minutes and ended up taking almost a half hour. And the potatoes ended up taking an hour and a half to cook. It just seemed like for a side dish that that was a little too long to cook.

And did I forget to mention how much of my mortgage payment went towards the cost of the sea scallops? I think we’ll just stick with the ol’ potatoes from now on. Ha ha ha!

But on a happier note my husband would eat both dishes again. He even had second helpings of those cheesy potatoes.

    Thanks.

How very generous of you to honour your readers/contributors that way! Your Looneyspoons book has been a beloved part of family dinner since we were on our first posting in Calgary seems like forever ago ~ my little girls love to look through and now read even (can you believe they could only scribble in it at one time?!) as I go about cooking dinner. Having recommended your book to some friends I came looking for the website to send to out to them and voila I see you’ve been up to plenty of healthy goodness and then some! Best of luck, I’ll be back often. :)

I think it’s fantastic you gave everyone a cookbook. I didn’t put my name in because I already have one. I love everything I have cooked in it so far, and my son will eat the food too! Eat, Shrink, and be Merry is definately the best book so far. I love to just sit and read it. Everyone enjoy, you will definately love it.

    Hi there,
I live in Waterloo Ontario and just returned back from friends in Edmonton.

They served many dishes from your cookbook and my friend Terri,
raved on how good your cook book is.

I must say, the hummus and the spinich salad were awesome.

I’m now back in Waterloo and am on a mission to buy one of your
    cookbooks.
Just thought I’d let you know your’re nationally loved!
    Conny
I’ll be sure to spread the good word about your cookbook once I buy one.
and try all your yummy easy to prepare recipes.
