Meal Kits at Costco!!
Hey everyone! We’ve been meaning to tell those of you in Ontario that two of our frozen meal kits (formerly “Stir Crazy” and “Worth Every Penne,” now “Sesame-Ginger Chicken Stir-Fry” and “Mediterrean Chicken Penne”) are now available in the frozen section at Costco. Cool! We’ve had tons of great feedback on the meals, so thanks a million to everyone who took the time to write to us about them.
I heard that Costco was heating up and serving up samples this past weekend. Isn’t Costco great? I’ve said it a million times, but you gotta love a place where go to buy bulk toilet paper but end up with a new flat-screen TV instead.
Anyway, look for our snazzy new packaging and the name “Janet & Greta’s One-Pot Wonders.” We’ve also been working on frozen lasagnas with whole-wheat noodles (they’re great, even if we do say so ourselves!), soups, pizzas and dips. Maybe someday we’ll have our own J&G section at Costco! (Or not. Can’t hurt to dream big.)

Will that include vegetarian items as well (I hope!)?
You two are the best!!

Tried to purchase one of your yummy pizzas at our local A&P today only to find out that they no longer carry your line!!! What’s going on here?

Man, I so wish I could get your food at Costco in America. My husband wants you guys to open up chain restaurants, which would be really cool, but the meal kits would be almost as good, if I could just get them here. I guess I will have to be satisfied with cooking from your books, which I do regularly. Tomorrow it will be I’m dreamin of a white chili. Love that stuff.

Where else can your meal kits be purchased? Which grocery stores carry them? (I’ve yet to come across them anywhere. But maybe I just haven’t been looking hard enough!)

Hi Janet and Greta,
First of all – I want to say I love your cookbooks – I use them all the time – I think they are great – I am a mom with 2 kids who have told me to stop buying Kraft dinner because my mac and cheese is the best (your recipe). That is a great endorsement!
Were not big on fast food but we do need to have food fast- especially during the week – my husband & I both work so everyone is starving when we get home.
One of the things I like to do is to tab the meals I am going to make so I can make my grocery list. That’s what I really wanted to write about – have you ever thought of making an interactive website where people could log on and select the recipes and build the grocery list at the same time. You could include the password when people buy the books. I’m doing this on paper but I think it would be a great idea to help people who want to eat well. Life is so busy, anything to make things easy really helps.
Looking forward to your next great idea!

Hi Ladies

Thanks
Margaret

Dear Margaret,
Our meal kits are only at Costco now. Do you have a friend with a membership? Maybe that would work.

I went to Costco yesterday and they didn’t have any of
your products there. They said they were not on order
at this time and they didn’t know when they would be
ordered. I’m hoping after Christmas they will have them
again. I love the Mediterrean Chicken Penne.
Do you know why Costco doesn’t have them all
the time?

Hi
I am looking for your wonderful meal kits. Are they still available at Costco? If so, I’ll make a special trip there just for your dinners, even if I have to pay the annual fee! We LOVE them!

Would love to get your meals kits here in Sunny San Diego, CA. Have parents on diets that are low fat, salt and sugar. Mom prefers ready made items. watch out full of what they should not be having just because of connivence of them.
Would love to get them in Costco here.

Had to dig out Crazy Plates & Looney Spoons again. Made the Mango & Chicken Tango for a friend who loved it.

Hi,
Can you please let me know which Costco in Toronto sells your product. I’ve been to a couple and no one seems to carry it.
Thanks!

I used to purchase your meal kits at Zehers and then Food Basics. I would buy about 5 to 6 boxes at a time since I did not have a Food Basics near me. Last year, they stopped carrying your frozen dinners. I have been trying to keep up with where I can buy these dinners. I miss them since they were to so good and easy to make after work. Please tell me where I can get your frozen dinners. I am still upset at Zehrs and Food Basics for not carrying your product any more. I love your dinners and hope that they are still available at a store near me.
I especially loved your chicken stir fry – my favourite
Thanks
Vicki

Can I purchase your food kits in the United States? And if so, where? If not, do you sell them over your web site?

I’ve been scouring Costco stores in Ottawa for your meal kits since I first read your blog post last September… and have yet to find them in any of the several stores I have looked in on I have lost track of how many times.
Are they sold in Ottawa ???

I haven’t been able to find your amazing pizza in quite some time, I’ve given up hope
I’m in Ontario (Kingston) and that pizza was the best frozen pizza, and not just amongst the ‘health’ ones! the crazy full fat gross ones pale in comparison! the crust, with herbs and a bit of spice — sigh…. where can i buy them??? I’ll fill my freezer LOL

I tried your chicken burgers last year at Costco and I absolutely LUV them! The last time I saw them, it was in Fall 2009. I’ve been on the lookout for them ever since, but I can’t find them anywhere. Can you let me know if any grocery store or Costco still carries them? They are soooo tasty, and healthy too!

I bought 2 packages of the chicken burgers about one month ago at the Costco in Pointe Claire, Quebec. I bought two packages because for some reason I knew they would be really good and I was right on and now after reading these posts I am worried I won’t find them anymore. I sense an emergency trip to Costco is on my to do list today.
