Being a carnivore my entire life, I thought it would be an interesting experiment to go a full 7 days without eating ANY meat. No chicken, no fish, no pork, no meat of any kind. I will not eat anything that once had a beating heart. (Do fish have hearts? Well, even if they don’t, I’m not eating them.) I’m not even going to eat artichokes, cuz they have hearts. So do hearts of palm, but since I don’t even know what hearts of palm are, I won’t miss eating those. Oh no! I just realized I often eat celery hearts and romaine hearts, too. This is getting complicated. Okay, let’s just say absolutely no meat for 7 days. I’m not quite ready to try the vegan thing yet, so I’ll be eating eggs and cheese and other animal products. As long as animals were not hurt in the making of the product, it’s fair game. But I won’t eat game, because that’s meat.
I’ll be reporting in daily so stay tuned! This should be interesting, as I’m pretty sure I haven’t gone one day in my life without eating some type of meat.

I’m thinking this has the potential to be a very interesting and entertaining set of blogs….No pressure!
Looking forward to it!
As an aside, I don’t know if you meant to reference Aerosmith in your title but that’s what it instantly made me think of, so you get props for that. I LOVE Aerosmith!!

I have a question that has nothing to do with the blog entry-hope you don’t mind!
I would like to invest in some really good pots and pans. Not a set but a variety of stuff.
What do you gals use in your kitchens?
what do you recommend?
I would also like to buy my first espresso machine (a cheap one please!)-any recs for that?
Thanks!

Wowsers. I go raw vegan for months at a time, and otherwise hover in the vegan/vegetarian realm so your meatiness intrigues me!
Small steps and best wishes. Looking forward to hearing what you experience. For me, it’s simply all about better health and energy.

[...] I checked for vegetarian dishes. And I don’t mean boring sides either. I mean main dishes that don’t just have lettuce as the major ingredient. Interestingly, there’s a section called “Don’t Have a Cow, Man!” that is full of meatless entrees. Nice! (And Greta recently did a “vedge” week. [...]

I’m trying to find out what Janet said in refence to some cheeses and their association to head aches and migraines. Does anyone remember that show. I believe it was the Tuna Casserole Challenge.

I think Janet said that some cheeses have Tyramine in them that can trigger migraines, (other foods have it as well, like some sausage, wine, beer and sauerkraut) but that monterey jack has low levels of tyramine so it’s a good choice for migraine sufferers.

Thank you, Helen, for correctly answering Shelley’s skill-testing question about cheese and migraines from our TV show! I appreciate you doing all the typing for me!
