Interesting Article about Genetically Modified Foods
I came across a very interesting (and scary) article the other day about the potential health implications of genetically modified foods. While this information is not the kind of upbeat, positive, funny stuff you’re accustomed to seeing in our blogs, I thought it was important to share this information. The more people who know what’s actually going on and who can act, the better the prospects for our long-term futures. On a positive note, I always believe that there are many, many brilliant minds focused on good in the world, and that in the end, light always triumphs over darkness.
Here’s the link. Just scroll down and read Dr. Mercola’s comments. He’s one of the world’s leading, most respected natural medicine practitioners.

Thanks for posting this. Wow, that is really scary…..and very overwhelming! The list of foods that have GM ingredients in them is a mile long – and everything on that list is what my family has been eating, well, forever!! The “bad”, GM list even contains foods that you’d think are good for you! Oh boy…. What’s the best and easiest way to get a handle on all this??

Don’t forget what experts say about genetically modified foods. Take time to visit this link (http://www.monsanto.com/biotech-gmo/.) It might not be an objective source but I can’t understand how a folk like Jeffrey Sachs can be forced to say something that he doesn’t believe in. Or such a renowned scientist as Norman Borlaug. These scary stories about genetically modified foods need to be taken with a pinch of salt. The world will not achieve food sustainability if we continue to be hostile to modern agricultural technologies such as crop genetic engineering.

I’m not sure what the answer is–who’s right and who’s wrong. I think we should take in all views and then take all views with a grain of salt. I’m just trying to get as much information from various sources as I can. There are always two sides to a story. Organic versus genetically modified food? I’m sure there are lots of positives and lots of negatives to both approaches as far as long term implications for the masses, and even as far as what’s realistic in this world today. What I don’t want to do is live in fear or to go into panic. I like to think that it’ll all work out for the best in the end. Maybe I’m a bit Polyanna.

I like that ‘Polyanna attitude’ so I think I’m going to stick with you on that one!
