Over the last month, I’ve been reading and studying a book that I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. It’s called “Ask And It Is Given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. If you’ve found yourself gravitating towards spiritual, self-development books such as The Secret, The Power of Now, Conversations with God, The Power of Intention and others like it, you’re going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this one, too. I guarantee it! It’s one of the best books about manifesting your own destiny that I’ve ever read–a profound, uplifting, truly life-changing book for sure. In fact, the foreword is written by Dr. Wayne Dyer, the internationally renowned author and speaker, and he says this book is one of the best he’s ever read. “A publishing milestone,” he calls it.
The book deals with the subject of The Law of Attraction, which many of you have heard of through “The Secret,” popularized by Oprah, or other sources. But the way this book simply and clearly and practically explains the concept (What we think, we become,” as Buddha said) is amazing. Whether you’re struggling with health issues, financial concerns, career concerns or relationship concerns–any concern, really, this book will give you hope and faith and make you feel really excited because it makes you realize that you’re actually in control of every aspect of your life, and that you can attract into your life everything that you’ve ever wanted or dreamt of. You can be, do or have everything that you desire, if only you learn how to THINK the right way. Contrary to what you might think, you do create your own reality.
I’ve always been a positive “if you can dream it, you can do it” kind of person, and so has my sister, Greta. After all, when we went for broke back in 1995, quitting our safe, secure jobs in order to write our first cookbook, Looneyspoons, here’s one of the very first things we did: we took the national bestseller list, we “whited out” the name at the top (we weren’t so technically inclined back in 1995!) and we typed in “Looneyspoons, by Janet and Greta Podleski.” There we were, ahead of all the big, US blockbuster bestsellers like Chicken Soup for the Soul, Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, etc. We took that mocked-up list and tacked it to our office wall where we could stare at it all day long for inspiration. We passionately believed it would happen. We imagined it happening. We acted like it was already happening, without a doubt. And lo and behold, against a million odds, it did! Looneyspoons ended up being in that coveted #1 spot on the bestseller list for 8 months straight! Remember, we were two unknown authors without a track record, without any previous publishing experience, without any formal cooking experience or training, seemingly without a hope! I’m not even a very good cook, for gosh sakes! (Greta’s our culinary genius and I’m the writer and nutritionist, in case you didn’t know. I like to say the only thing I know about cooking is how to bring my sister to a boil!) And now, I have one of the bestselling cookbooks of all-time in Canada! Go figure! If I can do it, you can do it, whatever your goal might be!
While I’ve always been this type of positive thinker, and I’ve been quite successful in many areas of my life, I realized that I didn’t apply these principles to ALL areas of my life. And this book, “Ask And It Is Given,” has helped me to fix that. I’m really excited about giving this book to every single member of my family and to all my good friends. If you’re ready for this type of information, it’ll inspire you (as Oprah often says) to live your best life possible. Check it out!
