Super Bloopers: Recipe Titles That Didn’t Quite Make the Cut

You can probably imagine how difficult it is to write and publish a cookbook, never mind having to dream up 150 punny, absolutely silly recipe titles for each book! I still can’t believe we’ve managed to name 450 recipes so far. We are truly warped. What happened to us as children that we now regularly think and speak in puns?

Today I dug up a list of some hilarious/ridiculous recipe titles that never made it into the cookbooks so you can have a good laugh at our expense. At least we were trying!

Drumroll…

Celery Clinton
Gnocchi Night in Canada
Hallowed Weenies (Sounds a little scary!)
Bread Pitt (Date loaf)
Basil Passages (Heaven nose what we were thinking!)
Days of Our Chives
Snacquille O’Neal (Stuff for dunking?)
Edgar Allen Poultry (For when you’re raven-ous)
Metric Cookies (Made with “gram” crackers)
Tori Spelling’s Alphabet Soup
Chili Bean’s Not My Lover (Michael Jackson’s chili recipe)
Kate Moss’ Ribs
Much Fondue About Nothing
Anti-Separatist Breakfast (French toast made with English muffins)
Silence of the Yams
The Best of the Breast (Chicken breasts, that is!)
Whose Loin is it, Anyway? (Loin chops? Tenderloin? Striploin?)
Tinker Bell Peppers
Forever in Blue Cheese (Neil Diamond’s favourite salad dressing)
Hippocratic Oat Cookies
Cod Willing
Davey Crockpot
Everybody Loves Raisins
Franky Scallop, I Don’t Give a Ham (Ham and scalloped potatoes)
Master Peas
Olivey Twists (Braided bread sticks with olives)
Chili’s Angels
Ham I Am

These are great!!! My husband and I came up with a title that we hope you will consider using. We thought it would work for a smoothie recipe. Here it is: Mea Gulpa.

    What do you think?
